Abby Brock (she/they) is a multimedia visual artist based in Toronto and Montréal. Her artistic practice focuses on the experimentation of physical media such as paintings, wood burnings and sculptures, which encourage chance and embrace the ephemeral. She investigates the representation of gender, the male gaze, and the performative nature of femininity through processes of deconstruction, re-interpretation, and appropriation. Their practice uses imagery related to folkloric and religious iconography to create archetypal characters that encapsulate their identity and relationship with gender and sexuality. Abby is currently studying Studio Art & Art History at Concordia University.
